MiniRoos U6-U12

MiniRoos is a fun, introductory football program designed for both boys and girls aged 5 to 12 years. Matches are played on smaller-sized fields appropriate for each age group, gradually increasing in size as players grow.

Each year, team sizes, game duration, and field dimensions progress to match the players' development level. Games are structured to allow for frequent interchanges, ensuring every child enjoys maximum game time and the opportunity to experience a variety of playing positions.

The MiniRoos season runs from March to August, offering a great opportunity for children to build their football skills across several months.

MiniRoos focuses on skill development, teamwork, and most importantly, having fun!

Grading

Under 6 to Under 8 (U6–U8):

These age groups are not graded. To maximise enjoyment and participation, players are encouraged to form teams with friends or classmates. The focus is on fun, learning the game, and building friendships.

Under 9 to Under 12 (U9–U12):
From U9 onwards, players are placed into one of two participation groupings based on skill level, as set by Football Queensland:

  • Wallabies

  • Kangaroos

These teams are formed through player assessments conducted by RRFC in collaboration with our independent coaching staff. Grouping players of similar ability provides the best environment for developing skills, building confidence, and enhancing self-esteem.

GRADING INFORMATION

  • Grading dates will be emailed to parents and posted on our social media platforms.
  • Attendance is optional. However, players who do not attend grading will be automatically placed in Wallabies teams.
